About The Department

Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College (Formerly Purulia Government Engineering College) is a state government degree engineering college in the district of Purulia in West Bengal, affiliated to MAKAUT and approved by AICTE. The glorious journey started in 2016 with five academic departments where the Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the five academic departments. The department has an annual intake of 60 students with an additional 20% lateral intake.

The department has well-equipped laboratories and workshops with modern equipments and machineries. The department has well- experienced, energetic, dynamic, and dedicated faculties. The faculty members and the students continuously strive for the development of the department. In a short period, the department witnessed the glory of success by the prestigious achievements. Two batches (2016-2020) & (2017-2021) already passed out and some of them have been placed in reputed concern and some of them are pursuing higher studies (Ph.D. and M.E/M.Tech) in reputed institutes.

The department has already organized workshops on “Recent Advances in Manufacturing Processes and its Control” and Two days Seminar on “Recent Trends in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering” and many other events. Apart from this, the department participates in many social activities like Blood donation camps, Tree plantation, etc. We hope that the department will achieve all success and represent the glory of our college worldwide.
